About Extra Closet provides indoor self storage, air-conditioned storage, and easily accessible storage in Southwest Florida.

Established in 1976, Extra Closet Inc. pioneered the concept of high security, air conditioned personal storage. Unlike the typical outside access "roll up door" mini-storage, Extra Closet has all storage units inside a large building. The closets are arranged in aisles under florescent lighting. Large platform carts are provided to make it easy for you to move your goods from your vehicle, into the building, and down the aisle to your closet. The entire building is air conditioned with filtered circulation. We have on-site managers and all customers are required to identify themselves and sign in. Our security procedures include the requirement that customers authorize, in writing, any persons other than themselves that they request to be allowed access. The entire building is protected by an electronic security system.

Extra Closet is designed for personal items, furniture, household goods, and business office records and equipment. We do not permit the storage of contractors equipment, vehicles, chemicals, paint, and gasoline & solvents. Nor do we rent to persons who wish to occupy the unit for purposes of doing work. These items and uses are hazardous and would be incompatible with our standards to protect your personal goods.

We also provide a large range of 15 sizes, starting with a 3' wide, 4' deep, and 4' high closet that rents for only $15.00 per month and is an ideal Extra Closet for someone who lives in a condo or mobile home. One of our larger closets, 8' x 14' x 8', renting for $139.00 per month can hold over 5,000 pounds of household furniture and goods. Our years of experience have enabled us to closely estimate your needs from a list of items that you wish to store. It is our policy to guide you to the proper size closet so that you will not spend more on storage than necessary. With the close proximity of so many different closet sizes, it is also possible to change to a different closet as your storage needs change.
