Why do I need air conditioned storage?
Florida’s climate is very humid. Mattresses, upholstered furniture, bedding, and clothing are especially vulnerable. Once the mold sets in, the item is usually ruined. The Extra Closet is completely air conditioned with constant filtered air circulation around your stored goods.

Isn’t air-conditioned storage more expensive?
The Extra Closet is often able to provide storage at the same or even less cost than traditional non air-conditioned facilities. Non-air conditioned spaces are usually much larger in size than you actually need. With more than 15 sizes available, the Extra Closet can tailor fit your need to a closet size, thereby minimizing your storage costs.

Isn’t it easier to just let my mover provide storage?
When you store with your mover you will not see your goods again until your final moving day. You may not even know where your goods are stored or in what kind of conditions. It is usually difficult and very expensive to retrieve something in storage. You don’t have the option of adding to or re-organizing your storage. It’s an all or nothing proposition. At the Extra Closet you have complete 7-day access to your storage. We even provide carts and hand trucks to facilitate your handling of your goods. Tell your mover that you want to store at the Extra Closet. We have mover’s trucks here almost everyday.

How can I determine what size closet I need? 
With 25 years of experience, the Extra Closet is very good at assisting you in selecting the proper size unit. If you submit a basic inventory of your major items plus an estimate of the number of boxes we can very accurately estimate one or two closet sizes that will probably do the job. We are only a phone call or email away.

We are interested in office record storage. Why don’t I just store with one of those pick up and retrieve storage places?
Again, this is sight unseen storage. You don’t know how your file boxes will be stored. They may come back to your office with moisture/mildew damage, or worse yet, bugs! Retrieval can be time consuming and expensive, if you are not sure in which boxes the needed files are, you can spend days to finally complete the retrieval. The Extra Closet provides a well-lighted office records room, sized to your needs, with shelving systems to make it quick and easy for your employees to file and retrieve. Telephones and FAX machines are available for their use. During their time at the Extra Closet they are inside an air conditioned, security protected, “office like” environment. Another plus is the ability to store your computers, disks, other electronic equipment, office furnishings and holiday decorations. If you call the Extra Closet with an estimate of number of boxes to be stored, we can quickly quote on which size unit will be required.
